LAP Family Weekend is a joyous time for the residents of the Life Adjustment Program to welcome their families and loved ones into their community for some fun, food, and games. As a volunteer, it is your opportunity to assist with this gathering. Whether you are helping to serve food, assisting with games or karaoke, or providing social support to a resident as they navigate the event, your support will be invaluable in helping to make this event happen.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings which include a Hilltop Residential Criminal Background Check without CAPS or MVR, TB test and flu shot.
- Successful completion of program orientation and position specific training totaling 4 hours.
- Volunteer should possess strong interpersonal skills and open mindedness
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality.
- Ability to be nonjudgmental and empathetic.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours to position supervisor monthly.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Set-up for the event - 9am-11am
- Assist Staff - 4 volunteers needed
- Event Volunteers -
- Check-in - 2 volunteers (1 volunteer per shift 10:30-12:30, 12:30-2:30)
- Trivia - 1 volunteer
- Karaoke - 1 volunteer
- Photo booth - 2 volunteers
- Food Service Volunteers - 6 volunteers
- Social Support Volunteers/Experience Survey - 2 Volunteers
- Clean-up Crew for the event - 3:00-4:30
- Assist Staff - 4 volunteers needed
