We are seeking a friendly and energetic volunteer to assist with our cocktail parties at the Senior Life Communities of Hilltop. This role involves helping create a lively, welcoming atmosphere for our residents and their guests during cocktail party events. You will support our team in organizing and hosting a fun, safe, and engaging event for seniors while ensuring the needs of our residents are met with care and respect.
Basic Requirements
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings including Hilltop Residential criminal background check without CAPS or MVR, TB test, and annual flu shot.
- Completes program orientation and position specific training. (Approximately two hours)
- Minimum age requirement of 21
- Ability to lift, push or pull 20 lbs.
- Must wear name badge
- Positive attitude.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain resident and family confidentiality.
- Ability to be nonjudgmental and empathetic.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours monthly.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet residents and guests with a warm and friendly attitude, ensuring everyone feels welcome.
- Assist with setting up the party area, including arranging tables, chairs, and decorations.
- Help serve drinks (non-alcoholic options available) and appetizers to residents and guests.
- Engage with residents in a respectful and compassionate manner, encouraging social interaction and conversation.
- Monitor the environment to ensure a safe, pleasant experience for all participants, including checking that the area is clean and tidy.
- Assist with light cleanup during and after the event, including removing used glasses and trays.
- Ensure residents are comfortable and attend to any specific needs during the event.
- Follow all safety and health protocols set by the facility to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone.
