Do you have a passion for creating meaningful, age-suitable activities that foster children's emotional, physical, and intellectual development, while also ensuring their safety? Do you delight in seeing the world through children's perspectives as they engage in play, enjoy music, create art, and partake in singing and dancing? Would you like to be part of a movement aimed at reducing homelessness in Mesa County? If so, consider donating your time, talents, and creativity to the children at Connections of Hilltop. The ages and number of participants will vary.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings (Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Registry, finger printing).
- Completes program orientation and position specific training. (One hour of orientation, CPR training (4 hours))
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong behavior management, conflict resolution, adaptability, and creativity skills.
- Dependable, responsible, and consistent.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality.
- Minimum age requirement: 18
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours monthly.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Performance Responsibility:
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children.
- Plan age-appropriate activities to stimulate children’s physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
- Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment.
- Expected time commitment minimum 4-8 hours monthly, during pre-planned groups or activities.
- Dress code: casual and appropriate for position responsibilities.
- Maintains open communication with other team members, reporting all concerns to supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor if not able to make scheduled shift.
