As a lunch delivery volunteer you make a significant impact ensuring Balanced Rock Community School students have access to nutritious lunch meals throughout the school year.
You will be responsible for picking up lunches at Hilltop's Life Adjustment Program (1405 Wellington Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501) at 11:25am, delivering the lunches to Balanced Rock Community School (1105 B Colorado Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501) and returning the empty delivery containers to Hilltop's Life Adjustment Program (1405 Wellington Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501.)
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings including Hilltop Non-Residential Background Check without CAPS and with MVR and National Sex Offender Registry, DHS Fingerprints (Facility), DYS Clearance (BIU form) and Facility Trails. Submission of valid Colorado Driver License and auto insurance.
- Completes Connections Program/Balanced Rock Community School orientation and position specific training of approximately 1 hour.
- Strong social skills and attention to detail, including time and location of meal pickup, accuracy of meals, meal delivery, return of containers, calculation of mileage, etc.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25lbs. Food storage containers might be odd-sized.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain student and family confidentiality.
- Minimum age requirement is 21 years of age.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours and mileage by the 5th of each month in Get Connected.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Delivery: Ensure the timely and accurate pick-up of lunch meals at Hilltop designated location (Hilltop's Life Adjustment Program). Deliver meals to Balanced Rock Community School. Return containers to Hilltop's Life Adjustment Program.
- Maintains open communication with other team members, and reports any questions, concerns or challenges to Balanced Rock Community School Director of Education or Hilltop Volunteer Services.
- Shifts are Monday - Friday with lunch pick-up at 11:25am at Hilltop's Life Adjustment Program while school is in session. We anticipate each shift will be approximately 60 minutes. Dress code: casual and appropriate for position responsibilities. Must wear Hilltop volunteer name badge during shift.
