Purpose of Position:The Donations Support Volunteer plays an important behind-the-scenes role in helping Hilltop’s Connections Programming serve youth and young adults experiencing homelessness. Volunteers assist staff with receiving, processing, organizing, and maintaining donated items such as clothing, hygiene supplies, food, and household goods. This position ensures that donations are accessible, well-organized, and ready to meet the immediate needs of program participants.
Basic Requirements:
Completion of volunteer application and interview.
Successful completion of appropriate screenings (Hilltop Non-Residential Criminal Background check without CAPS or MVR, TRAILS Child Abuse Registry screening, and finger printing)
Completes program orientation and position specific training. (One hour program orientation)
Ability to work with diverse populations
Strong leadership, public speaking, and adaptability skills
Dependable, responsible, and consistent.
Maintain client and family confidentiality.
Minimum age requirement: 18 or 14 with adult supervision
Good listening and communication skills.
Completes and submits volunteer hours monthly.
Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
Sort, process, and organize incoming donations.
Maintain clean, orderly, and accessible storage areas.
Track items in coordination with staff to ensure supplies are well-managed.
Help staff identify items most needed and prepare donations for distribution.
Support staff in ensuring donations are shared with youth in a dignified and respectful way.
