Purpose of Position: The Development Outreach Volunteer (Community + Donor Engagement) Helps strengthen Hilltop’s circle of support by building meaningful connections with donors, businesses, and community partners. In this role, you’ll support gratitude and outreach efforts through thank-you calls, notes, event preparation and follow-up, and community engagement activities. Whether assisting with sponsorship outreach, delivering materials, or helping behind the scenes
at special events, your work will directly support Hilltop’s mission. This flexible, people-focused opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building and making others feel valued while contributing to a cause that matters.
Basic Requirements
• Completion of volunteer application and interview.
• Successful completion of appropriate screenings Hilltop Non-Residential criminal background check without CAPS or MVR, Trails Child Abuse Registry Screening, and Fingerprinting through Colorado Fingerprinting
• Completes program orientation and position specific training. (Approximately 2 hours)
• Must wear name badge
• Dependable and responsible.
• Maintain participant and donor confidentiality
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Completes and submits volunteer hours monthly.
• Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Performance Responsibility:
• Make thank-you calls to donors and community supporters
• Support donor stewardship touches (birthday cards, holiday notes, milestone outreach)
• Assist with outreach to businesses for sponsorships, auction items, or event support, etc
• Deliver and/or pick up materials to/from community partners (flyers, invitations, gifts, banners, etc.)
• Support special event outreach and preparation
• Assist with pre- and post-event follow-up (confirming attendance, “thank you for coming” outreach, outstanding balances)
• Help distribute and collect event surveys • Research business/contact info for potential sponsors and community partners
