People Operations Support Volunteer

Description

This volunteer role helps our People Operations team with a variety of administrative tasks that keep things running smoothly. Each visit may look a little different and projects include organizing and taking inventory of SWAG, assembling binders or materials for the People First Leadership Academy and Hilltop U courses, putting together SWAG bags, setting up classrooms, sorting and labeling apparel, putting together mission champion or longevity kits, scanning documents, editing job descriptions, printing job descriptions, assisting with preparation and execution of benefit fairs or flu vaccine clinics, helping with People Ops special events and other administrative tasks.

 

Purpose of Position: This volunteer position is part of both the Hilltop Volunteer Program and the People Operations team. You will work closely with the People Operations, Employee Success Manager in conjunction with the Volunteer Manager or Volunteer Administrator. Volunteers amplify our mission and create impact by generously sharing time, talent and heart. Basic Requirements:

  • Completion of volunteer application, interview and onboarding.
  • Completion of appropriate screenings including Hilltop Non-Residential Criminal Background Check, Non-Facility TRAILS (Child Abuse Registry), and Non-Facility Fingerprints.
  • Completion of program orientation and task specific training.
  • Maintains staff, participant, resident, and family privacy and confidentiality.
  • Abides by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
  • Dependable, responsible, and consistent.
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using technology i.e. laptop, copy/scanning machines, label machines, etc
  • Ability to lift, up to 20 pounds.
  • Minimum age requirement: 16 or 12 with adult supervision.
  • Contributes 2–4 hours, up to 4 times per month, preferably on Wednesdays.
  • Completes and submits volunteer hours by the 5th of each month in Get Connected.
  • Completes mandatory KnowBe4 (if you have IT access) and safety training.
  • Wears Hilltop Volunteer name badge during the course of volunteer work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the People Operations team by completing tasks as needed.
  • Provide nonjudgmental, compassionate support and interaction with Hilltop staff, participants, and visitors. Approaches tasks with respect and curiosity.
  • Model and share practical tips for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable workspace.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure support aligns with team needs.
