Do you delight in seeing the world through children's perspectives as they engage in play, enjoy music, create art, and partake in singing and dancing. If so, join us as a Child Care Support volunteer at upcoming Love and Logic group meetings.
This volunteer works under the supervision/direction of Hilltop's Love and Logic Group Facilitator, in conjunction with the Volunteer Services Department.
Upcoming Needs for this position: Love and Logic Parenting Group on Monday evenings, July 13 - August 10, 2026, 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Volunteers should arrive 30 minutes early.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old or 14 years old with adult supervision.
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings,
- Criminal background check, Child Abuse Registry and Fingerprints.
- Completes program orientation and position specific training.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs or use elevator.
- Ability to function as part of a team
- This can be a physically demanding position working with multiple aged children
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 lbs.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Ability to be nonjudgmental and empathetic.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours by the 5th of the following month.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
- Maintain Hilltops values.
Performance Responsibility
- Plan group child activities according to developmental age and interests
- Assure children are engaged in planned activities crafts, games, and free play.
- Develops relationship with each individual child, act as a positive role model.
- Keep Family Room clean and always organized
- Notify parent/ caregiver/ staff of need for diapering, behaviors not manageable, and bathroom breaks.
- Dress Code: Comfortable clothes that can get dirty, close toed shoes
- Maintains open communication with other team members, reporting all concerns to supervisor. Notifies supervisor if not able to make scheduled shift.
- Participation may vary with each group. Be prepared for any change.
