Hilltop's Health Access is a certified assistance site for Connect for Health Colorado. As a certified Connect for Health Colorado assistance site, our knowledgeable, friendly team offers free, unbiased supporting exploring health insurance options.
The Health Access Support Volunteer, part of the Hilltop Volunteer Program and Health Access Team, operates under the guidance of the Community Programs Manager and in collaboration with the Volunteer Services Team.
This role involves providing assistance on Walk-In Wednesdays, or other days and outreach support to bolster Health Access services for clients and their families.
Duties include
- Meet with Health Access participants at 359 Main Street and assist with outreach activities, as needed.
- Tracking all meaningful contacts with the public for
program reporting requirements.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of volunteer application packet and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings: Hilltop Non-Residential Criminal Background Check without CAPS and MVR, Trails Child Abuse Registry and Fingerprinting.
- Completes program orientation and position specific training. Approximately 3 hours of initial orientation and position training with focus on Affordable Care Act and Connect for Health.
- Required skills: People oriented, energetic, and ability to engage others, sales and retail experience helpful but not necessary.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain client and family protected health information (HIPPA) and confidentiality.
- Must be 21 years and older.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours by the 5th of the following month using Get Connected.
- Abide by all Hilltop and Health Access policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Performance Responsibility:
- Time Commitment: 2 - 4 hours per week.
- Dress code: Business Casual.
- Maintains open communication with other team members, reporting all concerns to supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor if not able to make scheduled shift.
