As a Package Delivery Volunteer, you will be responsible for delivering packages and personal items to residents at our assisted living facility. Beyond the delivery of these items, your role includes providing social engagement and support to residents, offering a friendly presence, and contributing to their overall well-being. This position is essential in helping to maintain a vibrant and connected community within our facility.
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings including Hilltop Residential Background Check without CAPS or MVR, TB test, and seasonal flu shot
- Completes program orientation and position specific training of approximately 2 hours.
- Strong social skills and attention to detail
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality.
- Minimum age requirement is 16
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours monthly.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct
Key Responsibilities:
- Package Delivery: Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of packages, personal items, and mail to residents’ rooms or designated areas. Confirm receipt of packages with residents, addressing any concerns or questions they may have about their deliveries.
- Social Engagement: Engage in friendly and respectful conversation with residents during your visits, offering companionship and emotional support. Take the opportunity to learn about residents’ interests and preferences, personalizing interactions to make them feel valued and heard.
- Support and Assistance: Provide assistance to residents as needed, such as helping with unpacking items, reading letters or cards, or addressing minor requests related to their deliveries. Report any concerns or special requests from residents to the front desk or the Life Enrichment Coordinator/Manager for further follow-up
- Volunteer should plan to provide 1-2 hours of service per week.
- Dress code: casual and appropriate for position responsibilities.
Maintains open communication with other team members, reporting all concerns to supervisor.
Notifies supervisor if not able to make scheduled shift
