As a Meditation Instructor at the Fountains of Hilltop, you will have the chance to provide valuable support to our dedicated employees, helping them manage stress and enhance their well-being as they transition into or out of their work shifts.
Basic Requirements:
· Completion of volunteer application and interview.
· Successful completion of appropriate screenings including the Hilltop Residential Criminal Background Check, TB test, and Seasonal Flu Shot
· Completes program orientation and position specific training. (Approximately 2 hours)
· Certification or demonstration of learned skills to support individuals with meditation or mindfulness practice
· Dependable and responsible.
· Maintain client and family confidentiality.
· Ability to be nonjudgmental and empathetic.
· Good listening and communication skills.
· Completes and submits volunteer hours to position supervisor monthly.
· Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Performance Responsibility:
· Instruction and Practice: Lead meditation, mindfulness, yoga, or other related practices for facility employees, offering tools and techniques to help them manage stress and promote well-being.
· Provide clear and engaging instruction, adapting practices to suit the needs and preferences of the employees. Preparation and Setup: Collaborate with the Life Enrichment staff to prepare a suitable space for the meditation or wellness sessions, ensuring it is conducive to relaxation and focus. Ensure that all necessary equipment or materials for the session are available and ready.
· Session Delivery: Arrive at the appointed time, fully prepared to conduct the session, including any required setup and cleanup. Create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages participation and relaxation.
· Qualifications and Certification: Provide documentation of certification or prior experience in meditation, mindfulness, yoga, or other related practices. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the techniques and principles involved in these practices.
· Employee Support: Foster a positive and calming atmosphere that supports employees in managing their stress and enhancing their overall well-being. Be open to feedback and willing to adjust practices based on employee needs and preferences.
· Dress code is casual and appropriate for volunteer duties
· Maintains open communication with other team members, reporting all concerns to supervisor.
· Notifies supervisor if not able to make scheduled shift.
