The Mending Specialist is a key volunteer role focused on providing essential clothing repair services for residents the Life Adjustment Program. This position involves mending garments to ensure residents have well-maintained and comfortable clothing. The Mending Specialist will work closely with the Support Services Supervisor and other team members to manage garment repairs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Garment Repair: Repair clients' garments by patching or sewing tears and holes based on your skill level and physical ability. Use appropriate techniques and materials to ensure durable and aesthetically pleasing repairs.
Documentation and Return of Garments: Record completion details of each garment repair using the provided log. Ensure garments are returned to the LAP campus, either by self-transport or through coordination with the Support Services Supervisor.
Communication: Maintain open and proactive communication with the Support Services Supervisor regarding any unavailability or scheduling issues. Keep other team members informed about the status of repairs and report any concerns or issues to the supervisor.
