The Pastoral Care Volunteer provides compassionate spiritual support and care to residents the Life Adjustment Program. This role is integral to fostering emotional well-being and offering a comforting presence to participants. The Pastoral Care Volunteer will offer services based on individual needs and maintain open communication with team members and supervisors.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings: Hilltop Residential Criminal background check without CAPS or MVR, TB test, and vaccinations as required.
- Completes program orientation and position specific training: 1-4 hours of orientation. Hours depend on specific duties and department
- Must wear name badge
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality.
- Individuals must be at least 18 years of age.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours to position supervisor monthly.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Spiritual Support: Offer spiritual and emotional support to residents and participants in alignment with their individual beliefs and needs. Engage in activities such as one-on-one conversations, prayer, or spiritual reading as appropriate.
- Service Commitment: Provide a minimum of 1 hour of service per week, with the possibility of up to 4 hours depending on program needs and availability.
- Professional Attire: Ensure that attire is clean and appropriate for the duties performed, reflecting a respectful and professional presence.
- Communication and Coordination: Maintain open and clear communication with other team members, providing updates and reporting any concerns to the supervisor. Notify the supervisor promptly if unable to attend a scheduled shift, ensuring proper coverage and continuity of care.
