As a Nourishment Navigator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the mealtime experience for residents at our assisted living facility. Your responsibilities will include supporting residents during mealtimes by assisting with seating, engaging in meaningful conversation, helping with the delivery of drinks, bussing tables, and assisting residents with feedback on their meals and service. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming, enjoyable, and supportive dining environment.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings including Hilltop Residential criminal background check without CAPS or MVR, TB test, and annual flu shot.
- Completes program orientation and position specific training. (Approximately two hours)
- Minimum age requirement of 16
- Ability to lift, push or pull 20 lbs.
- Must wear name badge
- Must obtain a Food Handler’s permit through the state of Colorado (1 hour virtual class)

- Maintain resident and family confidentiality.
- Ability to be nonjudgmental and empathetic.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours monthly.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Assistance: Greet residents warmly and assist them in finding their seats at the dining tables. Provide personalized attention to residents who may need help with navigating the dining area or getting settled.
- Engagement: Engage residents in friendly and respectful conversation to make mealtimes more pleasant and socially enriching. Pay attention to individual preferences and needs, fostering a supportive and engaging dining atmosphere.
- Drink Service: Help deliver beverages to residents, ensuring that their drinks are refreshed and meet their preferences.
- Table Maintenance: Bus tables promptly after meals to maintain a clean and orderly dining area. Set up tables for the next meal service, including arranging utensils, napkins, and other dining essentials.
- Feedback Collection: Assist residents with completing feedback cards about their meal and service, ensuring their opinions are captured accurately. Report any significant feedback or concerns to the Dining staff for further review and action.
