As a volunteer, you will operate under the guidance of the Environmental Services team in collaboration with the Volunteer Services Department. Your commitment to maintaining cleanliness and your willingness to undertake tasks such as folding laundry, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, collecting and disposing of trash, as well as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming, supports Hilltop's mission to serve our participants and residents effectively.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old.
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings: Hilltop Residential Criminal Background Check without CAPS or MVR, TB Test and other required vaccinations
- Completes program orientation and position specific training. (Bloodborne Pathogens, General Safety, Hazard Communication, Standard Precautions, Disinfecting Basics)
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours monthly.
- Abides by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
- Stand 10% of the time; walk 80% of the time; sit 10% of the time.
- At times job requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling items, and feeling items.
- Medium physical effort is required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasional
Performance Responsibility:
- Assisting with drying and folding laundry, sanitizing high touch surfaces, sweeping and mopping areas, dusting, vacuuming, collecting and removing trash.
- Minimum time commitment: 4 hours per week.
- Dress code: casual and appropriate for position responsibilities, no ripped jeans or leggings, safe closed toed shoes.
- Maintains open communication with other team members, reporting all concerns to supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor if not able to make scheduled shift.
Hilltop volunteers are required to undergo background checks, fulfill medical requirements and attend volunteer services and program orientation sessions.
