Every hour of every day, people need essential human services-they are looking for training, employment, food pantries, help for an aging parent, addiction prevention programs for their teenage children, affordable housing options, support groups and ways of becoming part of their community. 211 allows people to give help and to get help.
Are you passionate about helping people connect with services the services they need? If so, consider joining Hilltop's Volunteer Services team as a Western Colorado 2-1-1 Outreach Ambassador. This volunteer is a member of the Hilltop Volunteer Services and Western Colorado 2-1-1 team. Volunteer responsibilities include supporting our teams by providing outreach at community events that increase awareness of and access to Colorado 2-11 services and resources.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of volunteer application and interview.
- Successful completion of appropriate screenings including: Non-Residential Criminal Background Check without CAPS or MVR, TRAILS (Colorado Child Abuse Registry Screening), and Fingerprinting.
- Completes program orientation and position specific training.
- Required skills i.e. basic computer navigation, organizational and advocacy skills, etc.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality.
- Minimum Age Requirement 21 years.
- Ability to be nonjudgmental and empathetic.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Completes and submits volunteer hours to position supervisor monthly.
- Abide by all Hilltop policies/procedures and Code of Conduct.
Performance Responsibility:
- Support our 211 team by providing Western Colorado 211information and outreach at community events.
- 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, 11am – 1pm (i.e. 1 or 2 times per month, 2 hours each shift)
- Comfortable and casual attire, appropriate for outreach activities.
- Maintains open communication with other team members, reporting all concerns to supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor if not able to make scheduled shift.
